The Winter of Our Discontent by John Steinbeck

How did I come about reading this book? This book has been on my list for a long time. I'm trying to read most of John Steinbeck's books.
What did I learn about the author? This is the last book John Steinbeck wrote.
Is the book science fiction? No, but it is very good fiction.
Is the book illustrated? No, but I think there could've been some great illustrations.
Do I like the characters? Yes. All the characters are interesting. That's one of my favorite things about John Steinbeck. He always includes great character descriptions.
Does the book remind me of anyone I know? A few people in real life. I won't tell you who.
Is there an identifiable central conflict? Discontent. How to deal with it. Other people's expectations. How to change them.
Did any part of the book inspire me in any way? No.
Will I read any other books by this author? Of course, I have a really long list. John Steinbeck is my favorite author.
How long did it take me to read the book? Over a month. I need to stop reading so many books at once.
