The Help by Kathryn Stockett

How did I come about reading this book? I had several very different individuals recommend this book to me.
What did I learn about the author? She currently lives in Atlanta.
Is the book science fiction? Nope.  Why do I continue to ask this?
Is the book illustrated? No.
Do I like the characters? Yes, they are all full of personality.
Does the book remind me of anyone I know? There were probably parts of all the characters that I could probably match up with someone I know.
Is there an identifiable central conflict? Racism. Confidence in who you are no matter what your circumstances are.
Did any part of the book inspire me in any way? I thought about my own writing.
Will I read any other books by this author? I might.  I liked her writing style.  I'm hoping she doesn't change much after this book is made into a movie.
How long did it take me to read the book? Not long.  I was on a waiting list and got called while I was supposed to be reading my book club book, so I only read 100 pages before I had to turn it back in at the library.  When I got it the second time, I read it in three days becasue it was just that good.
What is one word that describes this book? Captivating.
