...received this book. And I'm telling you about it here because I have set my sewing goals, and I'm supposed to be sharing with someone what they are. I was already going to be blogging about this, but I'm even more excited that the book already included some of the things I was wanting to share with you here.
You may be asking why I received a book on learning to sew since I already sew quite a bit. I have a lot to learn when it comes to sewing. Within the last year I advanced to reading patterns instead of making things up as I go. My sewing has increased now that I have a machine that works all the time (except for user error which has dramatically decreased). There are so many things I want to be able to sew and sew well.
Here are a few of my goals:
* Sew the dress from the pattern I bought this summer at the world's largest garage sale. And sew it to fit!
* Learn the necessary skills to refashion my mom's wedding dress. I'm not getting married any time soon and maybe never, but I would love to be able to wear my mom's dress not in 1970s style. I have it all pictured in my head, and I would love to be able to make the alterations. May I also take this time to tell you that someone made her wedding dress for her? Because it was also handmade and beautiful.
* Make the cutest ever Christmas aprons for my friends' next year...and not just the ones in my 35 aprons book but ones that I design.
