I have been trying to make the most of all these snow days even though I would much rather be working. I've watched six movies, read, written, sewn, knitted, eaten, rearranged. The good news is that I have something to show for it all. Several years ago I saw
this apron. I've been wanting to make it for a long time and have been saving it for a rainy day. I settled for a snow day instead. Since I couldn't go out to buy new fabric, and the mail has been disabled to deliver any goodies, I used more of my scraps. I almost used up another one of my fabrics (and will definitely use it up when I move on to my next project of getting better at making fabric flowers). I didn't measure everything correctly because I kept forgetting 1/2" part of all the numbers. I also did my waist ties a little differently to save time and sewed my waist in a little differently. This is a prototype for an apron I'm planning in the near future.
Fabric: Main fabric that you can't see matches the ties - from a bag I made many years ago; waist - from the shirt I made last year; multi-flower ruffle - from a dress my mom made me in the 90s; pink batik ruffle - from a purse I made several years ago; blue flower ruffle - table toppers I made for a friend's church; navy ruffle - from the pillows I just made. I'm hoping the fabric flower I make with the multi-flowered fabric turns out cute enough to add to the waist of this apron.
