you write about me in your diary

I was spoiled the last couple weeks with free time.  Posting is now back to once a week and twice if I'm rather talkative.  I started a post on Monday, and it's still in the line-up when I have some time to really work on it (it's the first of the countdowns!).  I have also finished the "mom" apron, but I haven't uploaded the pics from my camera.  I'm hoping to list the mommy and me aprons on Etsy once I get better pictures and descriptions written.

I'm taking piano lessons again after a very, very long time.  My last piano teacher was from Russia and had man hands (she's a she not a he).  Needless to say, she was very intimidating.  I have several students who are getting really, really good, so I need to brush up on my skills.  I'm taking lessons from one of my friends, and I had a blast at my first lesson.  I wish I hadn't waited so long in between.  I guess I was expecting a lot of criticism since that's all I got in my college lessons.  I couldn't wait to practice the next day and the next and the next.

I think I'm going to tackle bias tape tomorrow.  It's the next project in my sewing book and I've been wanting to start it since I think it might take me quite a bit of time to figure out.  It would be so great if the book came with a demonstration dvd since I have a hard time understanding instructions.  I am definitely not the engineer in the family.  Well, and I guess it's engineers who do the stuff and make someone else write the instructions, so maybe I don't need to be an engineer to figure out how to read instructions.  Maybe it would help if I was a mathematician since they seem like they would enjoy reading instructions.  I find zero pleasure in reading instructions.  Even thinking about it right now has really put a damper on my mood.  I should talk about piano again.

In other news, I sold my first book on Amazon today.  I only know because my friend texted me afterward.  I don't know when it will show up on my sales sheet.  She'll be the first to own a copy with the ISBN since I'm still selling my remaining copies of the original version.
