I recently made a trip to North Carolina. It was delightful. The following are a few pics to summarize a couple highlights. Not pictured but very highlighted was a trip to see working (tracking) dogs at their kennel and it was scary when they barked and I couldn't look them in the eye. I got to meet one in particular who was very nice (and cute when he got jealous). And I got to spend a lot of extra time with the cutest little girl while her mommy was very busy cooking and baking.
I went on a surprise picnic....only, it wasn't a surprise. It's rather difficult to surprise me. Knowing that it probably wasn't a surprise, N did surprise me by taking me to pick out our dessert (first, of course) and sandwich.
It was lovely. I've never been to the beach in fall. It was windy, but N was prepared with a couple hoodies. Good job planning ahead. Gold star!
Not only did I have surprise, but I had a date night too! Here we are having a fall time photo taken.
We took a mini roadtrip to Wilmington to eat at Riverboat Landing. We had our own private balcony overlooking the river. It was a perfect evening. I highly recommend the food. We had crab dip as our appetizer; I would have liked to order more to make an entire meal out if it. Dinner was delicious. Looking at this photo is making my mouth water!
Too bad I don't have a private jet to take me there this evening!
If you ever go to Wilmington, eat at Riverboat Landing, take a little walk, and then head over to Kilwins for dessert. The bit of chocolate ice cream I tasted was decadent (so were the chocolates and truffle I gobbled up).
