Often I have a birthweek as opposed to a birthday. The last four years it has been the result of Thanksgiving travels.
My birthweek began with a girls' night with my longest time bff's. We had an old-fashioned fiesta - painted pottery, ate Mexican, and roasted marshmallows. I painted an owl this time. I think I've given up on designing my own patterns on pottery since they never turn out like I want them to. My owl didn't turn out perfect either since the lady got my yellows mixed up when she was refilling, but I will be the only one (plus you, the reader) who will ever know.
The second portion of my birthweek was spent having tea with me mum. We've been doing this every year for quite awhile now. I consider it my official birthday celebration. If you have never been to tea with your mum, you totally should. This year I tried snowflake (a black tea blend with coconut, almond, and cinnamon) and creme brule (I don't remember what's in it, but I've had it before and love the depth of flavor).
On my real birthday I woke up super early so I could drive through Atlanta's rush hour to make a flight to elsewhere. I arrived in elsewhere in time for an early Italian (my favorite) lunch. I ate this early Italian lunch in elsewhere so that I would have plenty of time to primp for the Marine Corps Ball that evening. I will tell you about that Marine Corps Ball in a future post.
My boyfriend was so sweet and brought me a mix of yellow flowers (I don't have a favorite flower making things difficult/easy? for the giver). They were beautiful. The girl I am staying with put them in my room in a beautiful vase so that they are the first thing I see when I wake up.
As I said, I will tell you more about the Marine Corps Ball later. I am waiting for better photos before I share my evening with you. In the meantime, remember that you will receive a cup cozy with every bag you order in my shop (see previous post).
