craft days of Christmas part 4

Back in September and October I made a bag using this pattern.  I couldn't show you until now because it was a Christmas gift.

The Tohoku Tote is a very easy pattern to use.  I did change the way I assembled the final portion of the bag.  I like the method used for this bag better.  I wouldn't mind making another one of these bags using the other version of the bow.  It would be a cute bag for books.

I used a decorative stitch instead of stitching in the ditch.  I did this on the bow center, as well.

This was my first time using a magnetic closure.  They're quite useful.  I do think that I will come up with some time of reinforcement the next time I use this type of closure.  I will only see over time if this method rips the fabric.

Since I had extra fabric and a few moments in between projects in December, I made a coin purse.  I modified this pattern from Noodlehead to fit a 3" zipper.  In retrospect, I should have adjusted more of the pattern.  The zipper-cover-things should be different dimensions; I could have made it so there was more room to get into the coin purse.  This would be a really good pattern to modify to carry sunglasses.

Fabric: Amy Butler's Arabesque Paisley in Ivory from the Love collection and English Garden in Blue Stone from the Organic Soul collection
